New year SAND airdrop for LAND owners

The Sandbox is scheduling a SAND airdrop in January 2022, based on LAND ownership.

What. A. Year.

It’s been an incredible ride, and it’s been made possible by your support.

We launched our very first play and earn season that gave over 20,000 players the chance to play around the Sandbox Metaverse for the first time. As of January 2022, The Sandbox counts over 17,000 LAND owners and distributed over 80M SAND tokens to our community and we are not stopping there!

We want to take this opportunity to thank you all for supporting us in 2021. As a token of our appreciation, we are happy to open the new year with a SAND airdrop. We aim for 2022 to be the year of builders, so hodl for now, then get ready to buidl!

Who is eligible for this airdrop?

Anyone owning at least one LAND as of December 20th, 2021 at 00:00:00 UTC (time of the snapshot) will be eligible for the reward.

How is the airdrop amount calculated?

This airdrop is to thank everyone in our core community for your unwavering support. We also wanted to give a special shout out to our diamond hands 💎.

Then the total score (base score + bonus score) follows the chart below to define which reward you will get.

As long as you purchased the LAND during one of the presales and were still holding on to that LAND as of December 20th 2021 at 00AM UTC, you are eligible to the Diamond Hand multiplier for that LAND.

Here is an example :

• If you currently hold 7 LANDs, you have 7 points from the base score for a total of 7 points. This places you in the Unique tier, and you will be airdropped 100 SAND.
• Now if 6 of those LANDs are from the first Presale : THE HUB (Part 1), you get 3 bonus points for each of those 6 LANDs. This brings you to a total of 7 + (3×6) = 25 Points, placing you in the Proprietor tier, and you will receive 250 SAND.
• Now if you were the original buyer for those 6 LANDs from the first Presale, you get the Diamond Hand multiplier on them! The calculation now is 7 + (3x6x2) = 43 Points. With this score, you are now placed in the Magnate tier and will get 500 SAND.

Do I need to claim it somewhere?

You don’t need to do a single thing! SAND will be dropped directly to the eligible wallets in the upcoming weeks. If you don’t see it right away, don’t panic — it can take a few hours to get everything processed.
