Kraft Foods made its most recent metaverse trademark application with the US Patent and Trademark Office, on the 11th of October, for its classic Weinermobile.
The Weinermobile is a fleet of six weirdly shaped cars that go around America advertising Oscar Myer products. The first Weinermobile was created in 1936, and the drivers are known as Hotdoggers.
Weinermobile Metaverse
From the application, it seems that Kraft has in mind a Weinermobile-themed virtual restaurant around which they will build the ecosystem.
Trademark includes:
- Virtual food and beverage products, such as downloadable art, music, and video concerning food and drinks, and authenticated using NFTs.
- Running a virtual restaurant that includes both virtual and actual goods, and further offers home delivery in real and virtual worlds.
- Online retail offerings, including NFTs and related virtual goods, via an online marketplace.
- Entertainment services through a virtual restaurant allow patrons to earn rewards points and virtual currencies. The rewards can be redeemed in the real and virtual worlds or used for entertainment provided by Weinermobile.
Earlier metaverse applications
It is not the first time the American food giant has applied for virtual trademarks. In June, they entered trademarks for many of their household name products, including Jell-o, Philadelphia and Kool-Aid.
