STYLY, a cloud-based application that gives augmented, virtual, and mixed reality (AR/VR/MR) content creators a place to showcase their work and collaborate, announced on Tuesday an update that significantly reduces production times for creating immersive experiences.

STYLY released a new feature named Modifier, which reduces production times of extended reality (XR) experiences by 60 percent, according to the firm. Modifier allows XR developers to alter objects in STYLY Studio without using real-time 3D (RT3D) engines such as Unity or Unreal.

Also, Modifier by STYLY enables a no-code authoring framework for animation and real-time 3D (RT3D) model alterations, where users can add colours, movement, rotation, and avatar expressions.

Last year, STYLY introduced new tools allowing developer teams to overlay AR/MR immersive, interactive visualisations in the real world. The platform uses accurate GPS data to instantly place visuals on top of real-world urban environments, without the need for QR codes.

The developments come as the company shifts its focus towards the Metaverse and plans to use the freshly-debuted AR/MR development suite as a starting point for encouraging creators to make Metaverse content going into 2022.

NEWVIEW School 2022

The news comes after STYLY’s parent company, Physic VR Lab, revealed the return of its NEWVIEW School for 2022 which invites digital creatives to join and upskill their XR abilities.

Ryohei Watanabe, CMO, Psychic VR Lab, said,

“It’s not just for experienced artists, but for anyone who’s ever considered the possibility of bringing their dreams to life. Fashion designers, architects, gamers, and music artists have all been a part of NEWVIEW in the past, and with this years school we’re encouraging more people from diverse backgrounds to join us”

The NEWVIEW School allows XR creatives to enhance their talents in developing immersive experiences, content, and solutions with a hybrid model where learners can study in-person or remotely.

The NEWVIEW School will enter its fifth year in Japan, third in Taiwan, and second in the United Kingdom, following a successful first year.

This year, Physic VR Lab will debut the NEWVIEW curriculum in Toronto, Canada. Each selected region will receive a curriculum tailored to local cultures and communities.

NEWVIEW helps individuals learn skills critical to deploying a successful XR solution, including optimising immersive applications for headsets or smartphones and understanding emerging technologies such as photogrammetry.
